No Fee Adoption?

When my wife and I started our adoption journey a few years ago, we knew the costs would be rather high. While I am compensated well by Focus, we already had five kids and a growing food and medical budget. But we trusted that God would provide.

When we were unable to adopt from Romania, though, and had to switch countries (to Russia), the costs escalated.

All told, God DID provide and more than we could have imagined.

I’ll admit that when I heard Dr. Ken Hutcherson say that his church provides fee-free adoptions, I was a bit skeptical.

“No Fee” adoption?

Whoever heard of such a thing? Journey through our collective heart, our desires, and our goals. We are much more than an adoption agency; we are a ministry! We are a ministry that helps potential adoptive families, young women and their families navigate the process. We have seen that elsewhere, it is a complicated, self-centered, and an expensive process. We have chosen to make it simple…

It’s a concept that has generated some skepticism and some discussion in the adoption community. You should become familiar with this unusual approach.

Here’s the Antioch website.

Here’s the studio conversation.

    Hello -

My wife and I are interested in the ‘No Fee Adoption’. We live in Texas and have 3 sons. Can you direct us to someone we can talk with in this part of the country?

    Thanks –

Follow the link to Antioch Adoptions…although they serve their church and those in the community, they may be able to help you find a church with a similar ministry. I’d also suggest you check out this website: http://www.voiceoftheorphan.org for some good organizations and churches involved in orphan care.

    Dear Mr. Fuller:

My name is Mark Dicken, I am 16 years old, and I have just published a book called I Am Adopted. It is about being an adopted child who wants to be successful in his forever family, and how the family accomplishes that. I wrote this when I found out how many kids have trouble fitting into their families once they realize they are adopted, or if they, like me, are older when they find their forever family. I wish that every child would find a loving family! I hope the book can be of help to adoptive families.

    God Bless,
    Mark Dicken-Bradshaw

The book is available now through Tate Publishing; it will be available through book stores on Sept. 2.

I can’t believe you people are complaining about not being able to adopt, 5 kids? 3 kids? and 2 kids? Try having NO kids and not being able to have children due to having Ovarian Cancer TWICE as a child and not being able to afford $10,000-$20,000 to BUY a child to become a Mother. You just don’t know how well you have it with your 2, 3 and 5 kids. Be thankful and blessed you even have ONE to love.

I am definitely interested in finding out more for the Ohio area. I have looked into adoption and just can’t see buying a child. To me, that is what it is.

.My name is Angela and my fiance is James we are not rich and we already have three children, we are not able to have anymore and would like one more or at least or possibly twins. The reason is the three are actually mine, and not ours. James, is a twin and was adopted we would really like to return the favor; it was amazing that not only he was adopted but his brother was also. Currently, we are both in school, so the goal is that after we graduate we will be able to provide for the extra cost of more children. I looked into adopting and it seemed to run as much as 40,000 for one child anything less they are damaged in some way. Every child needs to be loved, I understand but we already have two boys that are special needs and might not ever leave the home so it is important to get healthy children. We need help; it is not fair to keep children from a family because there is a price tag on their heads that is ridiculously over priced

Hi! My husband and I have been married almost 14 years, but are childless. We are not rich, so while we have always thought of adopting, we don’t have ‘money up front’ to make our dreams of a child come true. While nothing is free in this world, I would like to know how other people have adopted a healthy child for virtually no fee. Any help you could provide me with would be most appreciated! We would love to have a child! We would love to fill that empty space in our lives! Thank you so much in advance! :)
