What a remarkable young man, with thousands of friends across the country. You may have seen him on television, on the sidelines with his dad, Coach Gene Stallings. Every dad should hear what Coach said about his son. Be sure to watch a slideshow about Johnny that’ll bring a tear to your eye.

Gene and Johnny mean alot to my husband and I.
A few weeks before our son Josiah (9 w/DS) was born, we saw a tv special on the Coach and Johnny. We were so moved by the Coach’s story and the fortitude that he and his family had in keeping Johnny with them in a day when they still called people w/DS ‘mongoloids’ and stuck them in institutions when they were just babies.
Coach was told that Johnny would basically ruin his life and career but in his heart he knew it wasn’t true. You could tell how much the Coach loved Johnny - involving Johnny in every aspect of his life - and even though we didn’t know for sure that Josiah had DS (although we had a good idea that he did) we told the LORD that if He gave us a son with DS we would love him like the Coach loved Johnny.
And wouldn’t you know…:-)
My heart goes out to the Stallings family and they will be in our prayers.
And maybe we could all remember in our prayers those whose lives Johnny touched and that because of Johnny’s life they would come to know the Saviour.
Blessings to you all,
Sandi
Josiah (9 w/DS)

I was first introduced to Gene Stalling’s son John after reading his book “Another Season.” Our 13th child was born on September 11th, 2002 with Down syndrome. At the time we knew nothing about Down syndrome and just remember feeling terrified and completely alone. Well, our son Gideon has really and truly become a great sweetness in our lives and we thank God for him. My prayers will be with the Stallings as they learn to live without their sweet boy. I am sure the loss will never leave them, but oh the reunion they will have with John in heaven! When they will all be complete! God bless you for helping people to see the value in each and every life. If only everyone could see it…..
