Making Sense Of It All
Good analysis and insight about what yesterday’s results here.
Finding Election News
For many Americans, about 20 percent of us, our main source for election news is the radio. Not surprisingly, according to a Pew Research Center study, the Internet is the prime source for 33% of adults.
Of interest to me: radio is strongest among 30-49-year-olds, and the Web is more of a source for 18-29-year-olds.
I don’t pay for my television…but obviously a lot of folks do! Cable news networks have passed both network and local TV as a source for campaign news.
Aching Hearts, Yet Hopeful
Steven and Mary Beth Chapman have not despaired since their daughter’s tragic death. In this deeply moving conversation, Dr. Dobson and Steven talk about the journey of grief and our ultimate hope in Christ. Anyone who has lost a loved one will appreciate the tenderness of a hurting heart and the eternal promises of comfort – even when understanding eludes us. If you weren’t able to listen to the broadcast, you can do that and find the link to the Steven Curtis Chapman website here.
WIR: Things For Which We Are Thankful
Writing this post Sunday evening, reflecting on the past seven days, I think of things our family experienced this past week. We can be thankful for:
- Friends who helped with our kids while Dena and I had time away, providing security and some fun.
- Beautiful autumn weather – the Rockies are simply lovely in the fall!
- Daylight savings time meant extra sleep Sunday morning, and allowed us to have first shot at the exercise equipment in the hotel fitness room.
- Laughter…which always seems to be enjoyed as a group around home. We laugh about a lot of things.
- Faith, the gift of God to believe in Him, to know Him through His Son Jesus; to see our kids grabbing onto the baton of faith. What a gift!
- A solid marriage, and good kids. We are richly blessed.
How about you? What can you be thankful about?
