I understand there is a web site you reccommend that rates movies in theaters. Could you email me that web site? I don't want to waste money by going to a movie that isn't fit to see, therefore supporting it.
Thank You

MY FAVORITE CHRISTMAS MOVIE IS:

"SHOP AROUND THE CORNER"

with Jimmy Stewart. So many people have never
seen this movie. It is a great one! It gets better and better and when "THE END" pops up you realize you just watched a CLASSIC! You can't buy it at stores but you can order it online!

My favorite is Charlie Brown Christmas, but a close second is Mickey's Christmas Carol. As has been mentioned previously, I believe the impact of these movies results from the feelings that I experienced when I first viewed the movies. Charlie Brown -- first viewed with my parents and younger sister as a teenager. Mickey's Christmas Carol, first viewed with my children when they were 5 and 6.
I also like "The Homecoming" the Walton family movie with Patricia O'Neal, and "A Christmas Memory" with Geraldine Page. These two I could relate to, in that I grew up poor. I am blessed to grow up in a close-knit Christian family that stressed the Christ-centered Christmas and people rather than gifts.

Two of our family favorites I didn't see mentioned above are "The Preacher's Wife" with Whitney Houston (wonderful praise music!) and an old corny John Denver movie (I think it came out in 1986) called "The Christmas Gift." (It's a particularly warm fuzzy for our family.)
 Blessings,
Barbara

One of my favorites (mentioned above) is Holiday Inn, though it has some conniving, and they see the folly of it in the end. It is where the song White Christmas premiered (6 years before the movie by the same name), but is a sleeper, and the White Christmas movie took the forefront.
Our family tradition is to watch Christmas Vacation the night of Thanksgiving. Being together and watching this as a tradition is the best part. There are a few suggestive comments, but overall a good theme. Thanks for the chance to see what others think - Merry Christmas everyone!

Great suggestions and feedback, thanks to all who posted a comment. I'll have to make sure we incorporate some of these in our seasonal watching next year!

Lurlene, sorry to hear about your problems at the theater yesterday. We've gotten to the point of not going to a movie with the kids unless we've seen it. Too bad things have gotten to that point, eh?

Its a wonderful Life is our family tradition every year. It never gets old and held even more signifigance this year with the economy.
However we were very disapointed in Marly and me!! Didn't check Focus rating on it and I should have almost ruined our Christmas evening. It was wholey inapproptiate for kids. We had to leave 45 min into the movie because we were on the 3rd scene that my kids had no clue of. Disney really pulled the wool over our eye this time. The advertisment had nothing to do with the real plot of the movie the cute dog was a side show not the show.
I will always check focus I usually do just didn't on this one regretfully
