Historic Inauguration

Watching the inauguration events, particularly the “swearing in” ceremony, has brought a tear to my eyes. America is an exceptional country, in so many ways, and the historic nature of this day cannot be overstated. The proceedings represent deeper and different meanings to each person watching. Let me offer a couple of suggestions about how to better appreciate all that is going on, and all that is ahead of this President, and this country.

Here’s a very good column by Peggy Noonan about the day’s significance, and how we might properly think of what is transpiring. There is something very special about this moment in time, regardless of your politics or convictions.

As I write this, Barack Obama has just taken his oath of office and is now our 44th President. He is stepping onto the world stage at a challenging moment, and there are difficult days and choices ahead. I am called by God to pray for him and will do so faithfully. Why don’t you consider joining thousands of others who daily pray for the President and his cabinet?

Thank you John, for this article.

We should all pray daily for our new President, his cabinet, and for our nation.

My sentiments exactly. Let’s pray for our president like the God’s word teach us to. Let’s pray for God’s wisdom for him in running a great country as ours.
