Do you believe it is wise to leave my money in mutual funds? I have lost close to $2500 dollars since Aug of 2007. Would putting this money into CD’s make more sense?

Hi – I was wanting more information on the Financial meeting in Costa Mesa,CA at the Hyatt. I think it was aired on 1/28-1/29/09 that there was a christian financial conference in Costa Mesa at the Hyatt and I was wanting to attend but needed more information. How would I go about getting that? Do you know anything about that?
    Thanks-
    Crystal Hickey

I contacted our bank on the 7th of Jan to transfer money to our checking account to pay off our home equity loan. I was told that the transaction would take place on that date and I would need to go in on the 13th to sign the papers. When I went in to sign I found out that the transaction did not take place until that day (the 13th) which resulted in additional interest. Is this normal for this type of transaction? Do I have any type of recourse?
