What’s Wrong With A Surprise?

Continuing a theme of “I must be getting old,” this just seems wrong to me. I’d prefer an element of surprise.

    Yes, but…

    At the same time, our society so devalues preborn babies that I see it as refreshing that some treat their babies as a person before they’re born. Having a name may be part of that — treating babies in the womb as babies, and as a part of the family, is great!

    Consciously or subconsciously, someone who names their child before birth is recognizing the personhood and value of that child.
