Pride Addiction

Our theme on a recent Focus on the Family broadcast centered on the ways we tend to shield ourselves in different relationships by hiding behind emotional masks.  During that conversation, guests Julie Barnhill and Shaunti Feldhahn talked about being addicted to pride.  This link will take you to a small quiz to help you identify whether you are operating either from a position of pride or brokenness in your relationships.

John 5:25 spiritually dead . Ones heart is still beating & the spirit is in a place of comfort & rest , but the degree of pain is extreme . For myself because my brain was smashed because of alcohol & drugs . It’s been about 18 years of Gods leeding by the still waters until now the pain is subsiding . A lot of Christians I meet would scare me away if it wasn’t so clear to me ” all things are possible ” with God . They don’t scare me away but moreso I walk away But I had to get up from the floor time & time again….some of those christians need to come back to the reality of a carnal earth

I felt like the speaker was shining a mirror into parts of me that I don’t look at in “Pride Addiction”. I always “prided” myself in being an over achiever…..the best at everything I did and do. Yes, I serve others because I’m “super Christian” and dawn my cape for the day, but who am I trying to serve? This broadcast really opened my eyes to question my motivation……self seeking……or …..God pleasing?
