Help In An Unplanned Pregnancy

Here’s a touching comment we received from someone who needed Focus on the Family to help:
“I can’t thank you enough for coming alongside our family at a time when we desperately needed some help.  After learning of our teenage daughter’s unexpected pregnancy, we contacted your ministry, and you, in turn, pointed us to a Christian adoption agency in our state.  As difficult as it was to give up our first grandchild, we’re comforted to know that he’s now growing up in a healthy, godly environment.  We’re profoundly grateful for the impact you’ve had on our family, not only in this instance, but also in a few other difficult situations that have occurred during the past several years.  Thank you for your guidance, support, and encouragement.”

I was listening to FOF this morning on our AFR station and heard you mention your autistic son. Have you seen the movie, Temple Grandin? It’s an awesome film (formerly on HBO) that garnered 5 Emmy Awards. I purchased it at WalMart the other day and it’s making the rounds among my family members right now. Temple is autistic and was born at a time when physicians recommended her mother institutionalize her. It is truly a remarkable story and I thought about it this morning during the show when you mentioned your son. Blessings, Cherry Sims

Thanks, Cherry, for your comments and the recommendation for that film. I saw a trailer for it, and was intrigued. Temple is very well known – and lives just a few hours from here. She is inspirational! I also hope you’ll listen in next week for a conversation we’ll have with Chuck Colson and his daughter, Emily Colson, about her son Max, who has autism…very touching!

    Thanks again.
